Athletics Manager (Full Time)

LEEP is currently seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join their team. The Athletics Manager will plan and execute all LEEP sporting programs (including Special Olympics team). Will recruit/ retain volunteers for various recreation programs and act as a liaison for the organization at community and networking events. LEEP is looking for a strong leader and will require applicants to possess effective organizational skills, strong written/ verbal communication and attention to detail. Applicants must be a team-player and willing to stretch outside normal job functions and responsibilities while multi-tasking in a fast paced environment. Applicants should have general knowledge of and love for sports.

The Athletics Manager work directly under and closely with LEEP’s Executive Director. Postition is full time, exempt with salary starting at $35,000.  Some non-traditional hours, including limited travel  will be required.  Benefits include Paid Time Off Program.

Program Assistant (Full Time)

40 hours per week
Schedule will consist of afternoon/evening hours (1-9 pm) and 2 weekends per month
Benefits include Paid Time Off Program
Hourly rate: $15

Looking for a creative and outgoing person to coordinate and implement leisure and recreational based programs. This full time 

position is a key position within the organization and will require applicants to thrive in a fast paced environment while easily adapting to change. Position will work in tandem with LEEP's Program Manager and Athletics Manager on continued growth and development of our programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implementation and Coordination of Programs, Staff and Volunteer Management, Correspondence, Budgeting, Fundraising and more. (examples of programs: arts/crafts, Bingo nights, karaoke, youth activities, non-competitive sports league, Special Olympics)

Candidates should have a genuine interest and enthusiasm in providing quality programming opportunities for people with varying ability levels. Person should be highly motivated with great organizational and communication skills. Experience in working with people with disabilities or youth is preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. All applicants must at least 21 years of age and have a clean driving record.

PURPOSE: To further the mission of LEEP through the planning and implementing of various recreational, educational and leisure programs. Assist in program implementation and coordination for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred Education in Recreation/Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Special Education, or related Human Service Field.
  • Background or experience working in recreation/leisure programs or with people with disabilities and/or youth a plus.
  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm in working with people with varying ability levels.
  • Must be highly motivated, responsible, and energetic and have great organizational skills while working independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate appropriately with participants, families, staff and other professionals.
  • Must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License and clean driving record.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE POSITION:

  • Ability to work and communicate with participants, families, staff and other professionals while providing necessary instruction.
  • Ability to make adaptations to programs to engage participants with disabilities.
  • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situation requiring first aid. Must be able to assist participants in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
  • Must be responsible and have great organizational skills. Some physical requirements of a program position could be endurance including standing, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate program equipment and program activities. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate activities/programs.

Recreation Lead  (Part Time)

LEEP is looking for quality staff members that are willing to take a leadership role in leisure programming. Candidates must: have a love for people with disabilities, be highly motivated, pay attention to detail, be a team player and possess good communication skills. Volunteer experience is a plus. Hours are part time and applicant must have a minimum of 2 evenings per week (3:30pm-9:00 pm) and 2 weekends per month of availability. Hours will vary 5-15 hours per week during school year, 10-20 during summer months. All applicants must at least 21  years of age and have a clean driving record, flexible schedules, and be willing to travel.  Positions starting at $9.50 per hour.  2-4 positions open.

2.     Clean driving record.

3.     A genuine interest and enthusiasm in working with people with varying ability levels.
